a while now in regards to church and church things, as you know if you've been reading this junk. I've been off the reservation so to speak for a while. I think the vacation must have been really good for me because I'm excited again about class.
Last Sunday was awesome, at least in class. As I mentioned, the worship service wasn't all that for me. I think that SU and I are going to try the early service now that RSa has taken a new direction and I won't be singing with him. Hopefully, the early service isn't as full of announcements and videos as the second one, we'll see.
I'm really looking forward to leading the discussion for a few weeks, although I still want to get other guys to lead it. We're going to be studying the books of Isaiah and Micah over the next 13 weeks. Not nearly enough time to actually study Isaiah though. I've read through the first five chapters this week as well as reading commentaries on it. Did you know that Isaiah isn't really one book? As in, multiple authors? Interesting, no?
But more than that, Isaiah focuses upon the misdeeds of the leaders of Judah. Very much like the misdeeds of our country. Are we going to be judged? SU thinks so. I'm of a different opinion but you'll have to come to class to hear it! At least for now.
